This paper selects a typical traditional data center, relies on an optimized air conditioning cluster control system, in combination with Shanghai’s time-of-use electricity pricing policy, and takes the lead in proposing an air cool storage solution that involves cool storage during low electricity price periods and cool release during high electricity price periods by leveraging the system’s precise control and rapid response capabilities. This approach achieves partial peak shaving and valley filling, reducing the electricity cost of the cooling system. According to actual measurements, the electricity cost of the computer room studied in this paper has been reduced by approximately 2% to 4%. The successful trial of this solution expands the scope of cool storage and energy storage technologies in traditional data centers and provides new ideas for the development of the industry.
